The Stars and Stripes Club Unveils New Veteran’s Day Project
On Veteran’s Day, November 11th, the Stars and Stripes Club unveiled a display case in the library in honor of our country’s heroes. Their case contains artifacts belonging to veterans along with information about the US military. The purpose of this display is to inform students about U.S. veterans, how to support them, and show many items from real veterans in our community.
Inside the display, there are many items owned, worn, and used by real veterans. Three U.S. Marine uniforms are hung up, being the standard uniform from the 1980’s to the 90’s, the standard uniform from 2000’s to the present, and the prestigious dress blues. Informative stands are also set up with real equipment such as MREs, meals ready to eat, and awards. Much more is included with many other memorabilia you can learn about.
The members of the Stars and Stripes are honored to teach students about veterans. If you want to view the display, you can find it in the library anytime throughout the school day.
