No Stigma Teen Mental Health Event

No Stigma Teen Mental Health Event

WESTCHESTER, New York – The end of the school year is just around the corner, which means so are APs, finals, and more than enough deadlines. At this point of the school year, students are up to their elbows in work and worry. If you’re looking for a way to be involved in a conversation about mental health, look no further! On Saturday, April 29th, Sarah Nabi, a junior and writer for The Anchor, is hosting a mental health event open to anyone interested.

Under her Mental Health campaign called No Stigma, she has organized mental health events before. Her first one was in May of 2022 and revolved around depression and how to recognize and manage depressive symptoms. This year, the “theme” is stress and anxiety, and we’ll have a speaker from Active Minds, a nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness surrounding mental health with their professionally trained speakers. These speakers are individuals who have struggled with their own mental health before finding the help to succeed beyond those struggles,

April is Stress Awareness Month and May is Mental Health Month, celebrate by taking a moment to have conversations about mental health!
