Each week, the staff here at The Anchor give their recommendations on an album, video game and movie to enjoy. Here are our recommendations for the week of 9/21 – 9/27.
Album (Cailyn R.): In Utero by Nirvana (1993)
Nirvana is one of the most popular grunge bands from the 90s. Their 1993 album, In Utero, perfectly encapsulates the grunge feeling. With tracks such as “Serve The Servants”, and “Heart-Shaped Box”, the album has been an important piece in the development of grunge music. In Utero was actually considered to be more harsh music, compared to the other albums from the band. Nirvana actually had the producer of the band R.E.M lighten up the tracks so they would be more radio friendly. Nirvana will always be known as one of the pioneers of grunge music, and continues to have an influence on grunge and rock music today.

Dogma was a disputed movie back when it was released in 1999. It was considered to be very gory as well as religiously controversial. This film, directed by Kevin Smith, follows two fallen angels who were rejected by God and punished to earth. They find a loophole to their banishment to heaven through a church in New Jersey, though if they succeed, they will destroy humanity.
