Artificial intelligence has recently become more popular in commercial use. This increase affects job openings for artists, such as graphic designers and photographers, and also influences the average person. Now, people cannot tell whether an art piece is made with AI or not. Will AI eventually take over art job positions?
Generally, many companies, such as modeling and real estate firms, hire photographers to take photos for their websites or magazines. Over time, as AI has improved and become more realistic, companies feel as though they don’t need to go out of their way to hire someone to take professional photos if they can have generative AI supply similar quality work. This extends to multiple fields; modeling companies can now use artificial intelligence to generate their own models as opposed to taking of an actual person, and real estate agents can now use AI to fully furnish photos of empty apartments or houses. This changes how people think about art because now, when an art piece is posted online, it is not uncommon to raise the question “is this made with AI?”
Art is becoming less and less sought after from actual artists, and has created a problem within the art community, especially for those just coming out of college searching for a job in art. As a result, less people study art, and thus the amount of art-oriented jobs will only decrease in the future. AI is getting more realistic by the day, and many are left wondering, “will human-made art eventually die out?”
