What is the definition of fashion? Is there even such a thing as the “definition”? Fashion is a way of expressing one’s freedom of ideas, creativity, and personal beliefs. It allows an individual to express themselves in a variety of interchangeable and artistic ways.
This year The Anchor is pleased to reintroduce the popular ‘Fit of the Week’ segment with a unique twist. We are searching for students and staff for styles that match the bi-weekly theme(s) and plan to follow tradition and post the polls online for all to vote. For those who would like to submit their own photos, QR codes with access to a submission portal are posted around the school on big pink posters where students can submit.
The results for the nominees of the most recent event held on Friday have been released:
We are pleased to announce that Ms. Barb La Femina is the winner of Fit for Fashion with 30% of the votes!
Her attire, consisting of a somber black blouse, lovely black pants, and shiny black shoes, exuded elegance. To complement her outfit, she wore a warm, friendly smile, which made her the top choice for the occasion.
The second runner-up proved to be a noteworthy contender and held a close position with the first-place winner. Senior Jolene Torres earned 20.5% of the votes with a polished appearance donning a sleek leather jacket paired with black slacks, edgy charcoal boots, and a simple beanie. To complete the ensemble, Jolene is pictured with her esteemed decorated cyan electric guitar.
We are thrilled to announce Ada Millar as the competition finalist who came in third place! Ada secured 15% of the vote with her stylish attire, sporting a black long-sleeved shirt layered under a black t-shirt and paired with a pair of faded ripped jeans. Ada’s fashion sense is classic and perfect for everyday wear, with her grunge-inspired outfit being her go-to choice. Her ability to maintain a stylish outfit truly fits for fashion.
We are excited to see a high level of engagement from both students and staff members in the upcoming weeks. We greatly appreciate those who have already participated and we hope that everyone will join in on the fun! Additionally, we would like to express our gratitude to those who took the time to wear their best somber outfits and get their picture taken. Your involvement makes our column possible.
