An Update on the HHHS Theater Program
Hendrick Hudson High School’s theater program was set to perform Seuss Odyssey as their fall play. After months of rehearsal, the show was unfortunately canceled due to raising COVID rates. The theater director, Clare Carey, was worried that too many performers might be out sick to put on a fun, safe show.
Wearily, directors Clare Carey and Mrs. Denler still decided to start rehearsing their beloved Spring musical. This year, they will be performing The Addams Family musical. Students recently auditioned with a song of their choice and a dance routine. For those who were quarantining, there was an option to submit an online audition. In order to attract a larger cast, the drama club is also opening up auditions to middle schoolers enrolled in Blue Mountain Middle School.
Students have been having a great time at rehearsal and are glad to return to a sense of normalcy within the arts. The cast is expected to perform a snippet of the show during the intermission of the Senior Fashion Show.
If you are interested in building sets or helping out in other ways backstage, please contact Clare Carey at [email protected]. Show dates are set to be April 29, April 30, and May 1. Tickets will be available as these dates approach. Make sure to bring your friends and family to see this spectacular, and very spooky, show!
